Norton Internet Security Download

Norton Internet Security antivirus programs are available to download straight off the internet.  The current Norton Internet Security download packages are Norton Internet Security 2011 and Norton 360 All-In-One Security.
Neither of the packages comes cheap –a one-year download of Norton Internet Security 2011 is priced at $99.99, and $169.99for a two year download, while the Norton 360 All-In-One Security is priced at $129.99 for a one year download, and $219.99 for a two year download.  They are, however, both highly recommended and comprehensive internet security packages.

However, aside from the price, how do they differ and in which one should you invest?

The two packages come with most of the same features, with just a few small differences.  Both come with the latest antivirus and anti-spyware technology, as well as Anti-Rootkit, Smart Firewall, Network Monitoring, and Identity Protection.  They also include Norton Safe Web, which appears as a tool bar that works in conjunction with Internet Explorer and Firefox, andblocks the computer from accessing fake sites, as well as those that are riddled with malware programs that are intended to infiltrate the user's computer.  However, the Norton 360 All-In-One Security program also features new and improved parental controls and professional strength Anti-Spam; as well as improvements on its own features that are not included in Norton Internet Security 2011, such as Download Protection, Automated Backup and Restore, PC Tune-up, Start-Up Manager and the completely new feature of Web-based access to backup files.

The biggest difference between the two packages is almost certainly the software that is designed to maintain computer performance, as well as backup and protect files, that is available in the Norton 360 All- In-One Security package.  There are also additional components to the software that can be downloaded separately and combined with the program. For example, one component includes the option to be able to filter out spam emails.  Windows XP (32-bit edition), Vista (32 or 64 bit) and Windows 7 are all generally capable of supporting the Norton 360 All-In-One Security software, although some performance issues did arise with Windows 7.
In addition to being available for purchase as an internet download, the software can also be purchased from retailers and is even preinstalled on some new computers to provide immediate security and virus protection for new customers.  The 2.0 release of the Norton 360 All-In-One Security package was tested by PassMark Software in 2008 to see what, if any, impact the presence of the antivirus and security software had on the overall performance and running of the computer on which it was installed.  The software’s effect on the running and performance of the computer was found to be negligible, and Norton has since used this fact to help promote their product.

Both of the Norton Internet Security Download programs have a strong reputation in the industry and with users.
